My take on the book-“ Dear stranger, I know how you feel” by Ashish Bagrecha

Ashish Bagrecha does a wonderful job at creating a safe space with the medium of this book within oneself. Short and easy to read 180 pages, the book is written as letters to the reader by the author. Doing the title full justice and does help in a journey to Hope and Healing.

I got my hands on the book while browsing in a bookstore just days after a heartbreak and this book found me , than the other way around. Taking a quick glimpse at one of the pages, I was excited to give it a full read. It comprises 30 letters, which the author suggests we read one day at a time for a month. But in desperate times, this book comes as a life saver and I challenge you to put it down once you get into it! This book touches on all the emotions one feels when a devastating event happens , it’s remarkable how beautifully these emotions are understood and expressed. From pain, loss, self harm to forgiveness, healing and kindness. I felt seen by the author, that happens rarely.

Although I must argue whether you will like this book if you are not going through a difficult time . But if you are or when you are, I do recommend this book a read. I can’t tell you how much this book might help you. All I can say with assurance is for me this book felt like a friend holding my hand, helping me move from despair and sadness to compassion and empathy. Ashish Bagrecha is one of the companions I had in my journey of healing. And for that I must write.

Dear Ashsih,

Thank you for writing this book, you made things easier.

Sending you love and light.
